Madeleine is a contemporary artist, who draws upon the movement of the human body to drive her artworks. With a background in dance, and a strong interest in contemporary choreography, Madeleine’s work is inspired by physical movement, particularly its interaction with the surrounding space. Madeleine believes that for her, there lies an intrinsic connection between movement and her painting practice. Analysing the two together, as opposed to separating the art forms, becomes an inimitable discovery in itself. Madeleine’s work is experimental and process driven, often finding resolution only by means of exploration. She implements a variety of mediums and gestural brushstrokes, forming the work through layers of refinement. Madeleine completed her Bachelors in Dance at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and Edith Cowan University in 2008, and in 2016 graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design from AC ARTS and Flinders University. She is now combining her skills and knowledge in dance with her excitement for the visual arts, which has awarded her several notable art prizes and exhibitions. Madeleine currently exhibits her work via Studio Gallery in Melbourne and Sydney, BMG Art and Transforma in Adelaide. Her work is also sold to private collectors via commissions.
